Hey George!

Cool character man! Adding to the comments above I think if you made him a bit more top heavy and widened out his shoulders that might help with the triganle shoulder plates not getting too close to each other. Also, I think that would help with the idea of the huge arm, because that arm would be super heavy and the bulky upper body might make it a bit more believable. Unless you want this guy to look sickly and stuff then just ignore that idea. Anyways, good stuff and hope some of my ideas helped. Keep that work coming!

Thanks guys for the suggestions and pointing a few things out that didnt really occur to me while painting it. Once in particular was that it was supposed to be a female, but I understand why you guys thought otherwise as she-he was lacking in the chest region lol.

So here is how its going so far after revisiting a few of these areas (now its definately a male). In doing so though, I think I've lost the creepy/creature-ish look from the original. I've also chucked the first one in for quick comparison.

... I was thinking of putting some thorns up his arm for more of a 'badass' look :P

What you guys think?

After changing it 1,000 times, this is what I've settled with. And i have to say that the warp tool have prob become a new favourite tool of mine lol.

Nice George! I like the direction that you are going with this character. The pose you've got going has a nice dynamic to it....especially in the arms. Looking forward to seeing it taken to completion with color and added detail.

Hi George!

First, just let me pump your ego a bit (I'm sure you don't need or want that, but it always feels good lol). I just took a looksie at the first page of your topic, and I must say you should be proud of the leaps you've taken on your work! Keep working hard! Or smart! or both!

Now, before your head grows to unmanageable proportions, the crits :P
On the Big Arm guy, I really think you should revise his pose before going any further. He is giving me mixed signals as he is now: An arm like that on that body, suggests a very unbalanced individual, a freak. The pose suggests a more formal, sane person. So the viewer can't decide about what that character is all about.

As for this last character, he will be sweet. I think he deserves a large, open mouth, with lots of teeth :D
You could exagerate the "S" shape of his body though.

@David - haha thanks! (your right it does feel good :P). I have to say this course has given me a lot to work with.
As for the gigantor-arm guy, I thought of an idea while reading your comment and hopefully ill revisit it very soon and post it up.

@Abigail - thanks for checking out my thread again!... and yes, i will continue posting in these forums for as long as I keep building my portfolio.

Hey George

I was wondering if you were going to go back to your character on post number 45. I think that one is really strong and would be sweet to be pulled through to the end! As for the book cover, it looks pretty sweet but, I think you could have some more with the character. Maybe add a bit different hue to the character to make him stand out more from the background.
